  • Salt and sugar to taste

Instructions

  2. Add the chicken, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and turmeric leaves into the pot and stir well.
  3. Add water and let it simmer until the chicken is half cooked.
  4. Add the coconut milk, tamarind juice, kerisik, salt and sugar, and stir well. Bring to a boil.
  5. Lower the heat to low, cover the lid, and let it simmer for 1 hour or until the chicken is tender, and the gravy has thickened.
  6. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  7. Turn off the heat and let the Rendang Ayam Cili Padi sit for at least 30 minutes before serving.
